Authorities Deny Akthar Mengal’s Accusation of Islamabad Lodges Raid
The head of the Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M), Sardar Akhtar Mengal, declared that his lodges in Islamabad had been searched in order to demonstrate his anger over what he perceived to be the mistreatment of some of the members of his party.
In a subsequent statement, the Islamabad Police Department refuted and denied the claims that the chairman of the BNP-M had distributed a media article about the police raid at his residences in Islamabad.
Mengal, on the other hand, stated in a post that he made on X on Wednesday night that his party senator, Naseema Ehsan, was confined to her apartment and that her son had been kidnapped. Mengal’s statement was made in response to the fact that Ehsan’s son had been apprehended.
Meanwhile, Sajid Tareen, the Acting President of the BNP-M, said that he was temporarily residing at Sardar Mengal’s house.
This was during the time that everything was taking place. During this time, the Islamabad Police arrived and explained to him that they had obtained intelligence information concerning the people who were living in the apartment.
Tareen added that he had notified the authorities that he had asked them to inform those persons who had supplied them with the tip to come and meet with him. He also stated that he had sent the instructions to the authorities.
To guarantee that the senators of the party voted for the constitutional package in line with the party’s position without being exposed to any pressure, the politician stated that he was making measures to ensure that this.
I have no reason to be afraid of anything that is happening here. I am doing all in my ability to ensure that the senators of the party do not feel any pressure when they are voting for the Constitutional Court Package and that they are able to maintain their party’s position, and this is the reason why they are having a difficulty. He went on to write that he was having this problem.
On the other hand, according to the spokesman for the Islamabad Police, they did not carry out a raid on the Mengal’s residence; rather, they went to the Mengal’s flat in order to obtain further information regarding the claims made by the BNP acting president that someone was following him.
The arrival of law enforcement officers to Akhtar Mengal’s flat has been misunderstood as a raid, according to a spokesman of the government, who indicated that this is not the case.
The manner in which the legislature handled with Balochistan was the reason why Mengal had resigned from his position in the legislature, as he had mentioned in a statement earlier.
He asserted that they went on to harass his two senators and their families, and he added that the only option that remained for him was to suggest that the senators resign from their posts before he could take any more action. “You’ve left us with no other path.”
It was on September 3 that the disgruntled legislator submitted his resignation from the lower chamber of parliament, citing the “worsening situation” in his region as the inspiration for his decision. In addition to this, he stated that he did not have any trust in the state, the president, or the prime minister.
I would want to take this opportunity to notify you that I will be retiring from my position in the Assembly effective today, which is Tuesday. In the course of the NA meeting, he made this statement: “I arrived at this conclusion as a result of my observations regarding the situation in Balochistan.”
They had not been granted the right to rule for a year, and the politician stated his lack of trust in the entire system. He expressed remorse that he was unable to do anything for the people of the province, and he expressed his lack of faith in the entire system.
“People are not interested in the issues of Balochistan, and every time this issue is raised, we face a blackout,” he had pointed out before. “This assembly does not listen to us; what’s the point of sitting here?”
